In tribute to our baby sister who passed this life on November 29, 2021 at 63 years of age.
To Judy:
Wow Judy, you’re really gone. We all knew this day would come, you’ve suffered so. But it’s hard to process not getting your long-drawn-out conversations every once in a while, not getting your Judy-tude or photogenic smile. What is tomorrow without you?
As the last weeks have shown, the nights come and the day breaks, however, you are still an indelible part of our hearts.
Juke-Box, that’s what I called you because you could belt it out when you had mind to and sing you could. You were a “no holds barred” kind of person which made you the nephews’ favorite aunt. You were gifted to us to make us better and you did your job. You left your mark.
Very early a few Sunday mornings ago God held your weary body and said “It’s Time.” You began your journey. Alongside your hospital bed, we went with you as far as we could go so you wouldn’t walk alone. We walked and talked with you until you met your angels, the angels you always spoke of, who took you the rest of the way. You took flight from this earthly body but you did leave us with a lot of good memories, a lot of laughter.
Oh yeah, thanks again for letting me borrow Robert (husband) to go down the zip line with me at Massanutten. And I suppose it’s okay to let your secret out now…you liked doing feet (pedicures). You did mine and swore me to secrecy lest the word got out.
Well, here I am, Pert-Nellie (that’s the endearing name you called me) signing off but not out.
The last thing I learned from you is not to say “Goodbye”. So, I’ll say it the Julianne Denise Moore Tillman way,
“Later.”
To the Family:
Let’s not focus on what or who is lost to us now, Judy’s gone. Let’s focus on who is left. Hold on to that person, love that person, cherish that person. Yes, some might be hard to love but good don’t always come easy but in the long run it is worth the effort.
To You, My Readers:
These last couple of years, grief has visited many of us in one way or another. Through death, divorce, lost relationships and livelihoods. Grieve awhile, you are due that. But don’t stay there… move. There is a tomorrow as long as you keep present in mind today. It will get better.

Marilyn I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful sister. Sounds like she left you and your family with many memories to cherish. Thanks for sharing your tribute to her with us.
