21 Days – A Spiritual Pilgrimage
From Birth to Glory – Come See the King
Over 2000 years ago our Savior, the King lay wrapped in swaddling clothes.
You can meet Him TODAY clothed in the Light of His Glory.
There was no room at the inn for Him.
There is room AT THE CROSS for you.
Wise men journeyed from afar bringing gifts.
No matter what station you are in life, OFFER Him YOURSELF.
Shepherds abandoned their sheep to gaze on baby Jesus.
Leave your routine and BASK IN HIS PRESENCE.
We celebrate the timeless salvation He brought to humankind.
Come CELEBRATE the DELIVERANCE He still brings today.
This is the season we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. We are forever grateful He came, lived and died for our sins. Jesus Christ as a babe was introduced to only a few people that night in Bethlehem. I invite you to “see” Him as He is today.
Over 21 days beginning January 2 in the New Year 2021, I will be on a sacred pilgrimage to see the King in his present glory. Come “see” Him as you have never seen Him before, High and Lifted Up with His Presence filling your temple.
21 Day Fast 2021_ A Spiritual Pilgrimage
January 2 – January 22, 2021
Daniel 10 (Holy Bible- New Living Translation)
2 When this vision came to me, I, Daniel, had been in mourning for three whole weeks.
3 All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed.
12 Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.
Daniel fasted, deprived himself of “rich food” for 21 days because he needed to hear from God. He dressed down to humble himself before God, i.e., he “used no fragrant oil”. The wonderful thing is, although he fasted 21 days, God heard him the first day and set about to answer his prayer. God was ready to answer Daniel’s prayer immediately but perhaps it would take Daniel 21 days before he was ready to receive the answer.
Note Daniel’s prayer was not for selfish gain. It was for something that would benefit others. He prayed for understanding. As you embark on this pilgrimage with me pray for something you need that would not only benefit yourself but would be a blessing to others.
Why go on this pilgrimage?
Spiritual Intimacy with God is the primary reason. It is achieved through cleansing the mind and spirit. Cleansing of the body is a definitive byproduct of this process as well.
Spiritual Intimacy
Spiritual Purification – You are what you think.
Spiritual intimacy demands spiritual purification. Spiritual purification is a cleansing of the mind and spirit. You are what you have intellectually consumed. You are consumed with what you have allowed to enter your mind on a daily basis through television, social media or ‘groupthink’ associations.
The mind feed we take in daily has influence. Strong influence. The information we consume may be overt or subliminal. It influences our conversations and the way we think or react. That’s one reason why there are so many posers. People wanting to be like someone else or be something that they are not called to be. Television and advertisements are excellent conveyers of mind feed.
This feed diverts your thoughts so that it is harder for your spirit to communicate with the Holy Spirit of God. You don’t think so? Okay. Does your mind shift to areas that are contrary to wholesome thoughts or deeds? Do you have to fight past non-relevant, grandiose thoughts to meditate, to pray, or even to be in a conversation at times? Thought so.
Natural Cleansing
Natural Purification – You are what you eat.
Your health today is a direct function of what you ate yesterday. What you eat today is a direct contributor of your health tomorrow. The onset of fast foods, artificially grown fish, poultry and beef, pest control on fruits and vegetables and preservatives in prepared foods have contributed to more full bellies faster. It has also contributed to health issues in later years. I’m not a nutritionist so I need to let the experts speak.

Come Go with Me
There you have it! I’ve presented all the reasons you should give this pilgrimage a try. Now what do you fast from these 21 days?
The more experienced will do a Daniel Fast. However, God will honor your fast at whatever level you are. If you love bread, give up bread for 21 days. Or maybe, give up your lunch for 21 days. You chose what food you will sacrifice, emphasis on the word sacrifice. Sacrifice means it probably will bring discomfort while you are going through the 21 days.
The wise men traveled long and hard to see the Christ and was under the threat of the Herod, king of Jerusalem. The shepherd momentarily abandoned their jobs to experience the baby’s presence.
What are YOU willing to do to experience His Presence?
Another Thing
It is MOST important that while you are fasting from food you also fast from media that compromises the goal. Put aside anything that doesn’t lend itself to pure thoughts or deeds. After all, you’re going to enter the presence of the King of Kings. Offer him your best self. Yes, God accepts us as we are in terms of salvation. However, I’m talking about entering the spiritual Holy of Holies and this you do not take lightly. Your sincerity in this matter will determine how close to His Presence you’ll get.
One Last Thing
It is also MOST important that you find space and time to meditate on God daily. I will give you passages of scripture each day to meditate on or you choose scriptures in the Word of God on which to meditate.
In conclusion, if you have an inward desire to do this (the only way you will be successful) you need to make these Three Commitments.
- I will fast from ________________ (what food(s)).
- I will refrain from ______________ (what social media, tv shows, magazines, etc.)
- I will talk to God and meditate daily.
Ready?
Take my hand, let’s walk this together.
Whoa. Wait a minute.
This is Really the Last Thing
If you mess up, Get Up! Continue on the path and don’t give in to giving up. Get a partner to do this with you. It helps to have someone encourage you when you get weak and vice versa. It is also exhilarating to share with someone who understands the experience as you reach new heights in God! Go ahead, find another courageous soul to travel with you. If not, go alone (although you’ll find that you are never alone). This journey is worth the cost.
Packed?
Ready?
Let’s go.
